At the same time, competitions are also being carried out in terms of safety performance, cell size, cycle times, service life, and Packing process. According to incomplete statistics, battery companies including Ruipu Lanjun, Honeycomb Energy, Penghui Energy, Envision Power, Zhengli New Energy, Haichen Energy Storage, Nandu Power Supply, Chuneng New Energy, etc. have all released energy storage-specific battery cells with a capacity of more than 300Ah. Zhengli New Energy released Zhengli · Energy Storage series products - large-capacity energy storage-specific cells with a capacity of up to 314Ah, with a cycle life of more than 12,000 times. The cells are also at the advanced level in the industry in terms of energy density, safety, service life, and full life cycle cost. With the innovation and upgrading of large-capacity energy storage cells empowered by the top technology, Ruipu Lanjun 320Ah and 340Ah top battery energy storage series products have been released recently. Among them, the volume energy density of the 320Ah top energy storage cells reaches 400Wh/L, the cycle life exceeds 10,000 times, the calendar life exceeds 20 years, the cost of raw materials and components is saved by 5%, and the safety is also fully upgraded. It will take the lead in mass production and delivery of over 300Ah large-capacity energy storage batteries in the third quarter of this year. Honeycomb Energy has released a full range of energy storage cells and products used in the three major scenarios of power, industry and commerce and households, including L500 type 325Ah power storage special cells, L600 type 124Ah industrial and commercial energy storage special cells, L600 type 168Ah home energy storage special cells, etc. Penghui Energy has also launched its 320Ah large-capacity energy storage cells, with a cycle number of up to 12,000 times. At present, the large-capacity batteries for energy storage are "in the middle of a fierce battle", and two companies have increased the capacity of single cells by increasing the size, and released ultra-500Ah energy storage large-capacity batteries. Yiwei Energy Storage has released a LF560K special battery for energy storage. This large iron lithium battery cell with a capacity of 560Ah can store 1.792kWh of energy, that is, 1.792 kWh of electricity, and has a cycle life of more than 12,000 times. Xiongtao Co., Ltd. has a larger capacity. Its recently released 580Ah energy storage battery has a cycle number of 10,000 times, jumping to the top of the energy storage battery capacity rankings. However, it is worth noting that Ouyang Minggao, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, said at the 4th International Exchange Conference on New Energy Vehicles and Power Batteries (CIBF2023 Shenzhen) that with the increase of SOC (state of charge of battery cells), large-capacity lithium iron phosphate The proportion of hydrogen produced by thermal runaway batteries increases, and the explosion index is twice that of ternary batteries. He pointed out that lithium iron phosphate batteries are generally considered to be relatively safe. In essence, this is true for small lithium iron phosphate batteries, but the internal temperature of large-capacity batteries, such as 320Ah batteries, can exceed 800 degrees, which exceeds the decomposition temperature of the positive electrode of lithium iron phosphate. Under normal circumstances, lithium iron phosphate at the positive electrode does not decompose at small ampere times, so the thermal runaway is not violent, but the high temperature at high temperature will cause decomposition, which will generate a large amount of flammable electrolyte vapor, and the risk of gas explosion is higher than that of ternary batteries. Therefore, products with batteries over 300Ah have more prominent requirements for their body, use process and fire safety. Some people in the industry said that the larger the battery capacity, the higher the risk of thermal runaway, regardless of ternary or iron-lithium batteries. At present, leading companies have also continuously improved safety performance in the research and development and application of large-capacity batteries. It is not uncommon for various battery companies to catch up on the energy storage track in terms of large capacity, high safety, and long life. The core indicators of energy storage battery products released by various battery companies have been continuously improved, which also reflects their own technical strength. In addition, the increase in battery capacity will help reduce manufacturing costs. For the same manpower and energy consumption, with a slight increase in raw materials, the unit ampere-hour of output will increase, the unit cost of the product will decrease accordingly, and the market competitiveness will be enhanced.

The agency predicts that China's energy storage lithium battery shipments will reach 389GWh in 2025, an increase of more than 8 times over 2021, and a CAGR of 68.8% from 2021 to 2025. At present, on the one hand, new domestic energy storage invite tenders continue to increase in volume, and the market has entered the peak season of delivery and orders; on the other hand, the wave of energy storage construction in overseas markets is gradually fierce, and China's energy storage lithium battery industry chain is perfect. It will deeply participate in the construction of the global energy storage industry, which is expected to further enhance the competitiveness of domestic industry chain enterprises in the global market.
